+We have multiple strain gauges connected to a MCU which determines pressure based on a change in resistance. The pressure value can be arbitrary (like 0 to 100) depending on if there's any force on it. Once the MCU obtains the pressure values it stores it in onboard memory. When the MCU connects to a phone it send all the pressure data stored onboard to the phone and then the phone app uses the stored data to make a heatmap of pressure.
